After nearly seven weeks of waiting, I can finally say with confidence: I've got another hen!
The proof? This little one looks exactly like its mother - plumage and all.
Hooray!
Sorry I couldn't snag a decent shot of the chick with its mom. For some reason, this flock turns into a bunch of drama queens whenever I point a camera their way. They scatter in a noisy fluster every time.
Quick incubation update:
My early March 2026 hatch didn't go as planned. I had seven eggs from two hens in the incubator, but development stalled about a week in. Disappointing, yes - but hope isn't lost! The same two hens continued laying after when I started my incubator and are now sitting on a combined clutch of eight eggs together.
Fingers crossed tightly over here!
