Now that I know the offending component is the power supply unit (PSU), now to go out hunting for one.
I would love to buy a new PSU from a local Malaysian seller. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an online seller. The best that I could find were refurbished units, something which I am not in favourable of. After all, who knows how well used and old they were and more importantly, how long they will last. In the end, I have to order one from China via Shopee Malaysia. The cost - RM99.70 including shipping. It came a week later, well packed. PSU was also shrink-wrapped too. So there was no risk of any contaminants within the unit.
I have been using this PSU for almost 2 months now. So far so good. Works beautifully. Installation was a breeze with the snap-on design of the PC casing.
Only complain, though minor, is that the computer turns itself on (without me pressing on the power-on button) every time when I turn-on the main switch. Fault of of the PSU or maybe a short on the power-on switch when I removed the front cover of the PC numerous times. Not a real problem though since I was about to boot up the PC anyway.
Now, I have no idea when this PSU was manufactured. The date on the label is a bit cryptic. Small matter, no less.
