Test Image Upload To PicasaWeb Via Raven+

There has been some problems with uploading images to PicasaWeb via Raven+ since January 23rd 2018. A peek into Raven+'s log says this:

[ZUploadContentPrePublishHandler] Failed to upload file 1 of 1 (F:\Temp\TEST_RAVEN.JPG)
[EXCEPTION][ZUploadContentPrePublishHandler] ZBlogAppException [Failed to upload file 'TEST_RAVEN.JPG'.([500, 'Internal Server Error', 'Internal error, try again later'])].

What does it mean? I am absolutely clueless.

Well anyway it seems to be fixed now - some 2 days later. I just managed to upload this picture a moment ago.

TEST_RAVEN.JPG

I'm not too sure what happened. I didn't change anything on my side, that's for sure. No official announcement from Google either.

Arrogance like Microsoft some 20 years ago? Or IBM some 30 to 40 years ago? Who knows?

  2. Hello T.C.!

Excuse me for bother you, but I need your help. Please!

From yesterday I can not upload any image with Raven. I wrote in the forum and they answer me this:

The Picasa Web Albums Data API has been deprecated and is no longer available from March, From 15 January will be a progressive shutdown.
And yesterday Data API shutdown in my Picasa

    BUT! the deprecation info say:

"To access the API during the extension period, between 15 January 2019 and 15 March 2019, you can specify a flag as part of your requests to the Picasa Web Albums Data API. Append the query parameter deprecation-extension=true to the URL of your requests
    Here is an example:
    GET https://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/api/user/userID?deprecation-extension=true
Alternatively, you can also specify the deprecation-extension:true parameter in the header of your requests:"deprecation-extension": "true"
You can read it here: https://developers.google.com/picasa-web/docs/3.0/deprecation

Please, If you have a little time, can you edit the file for me, please? or please tell me what file I have to edit and how, 'cause you explain all very clear.
    I downloaded python-2.4.4.msi and RavenDependencies.zip but I don´t know what I have to do

    Thanks!!! And excuse me again!

    1. In my build of Raven+ v1.0.507, I am making the raw GET calls via the Python API (I think it is the GData API, can't remember now) for picture uploads to Picasa. I do not call them directly as mentioned in the deprecation info. For me to trace through the API code, something which is not easy with my level of Python programming skills which is way beyond me, would take me months which defeats the purpose.

Also, Google's Blogger API has no picture uploading capabilities; And has not been updated since June 6, 2017.

And, there is no Python API libraries for Google Photo.

My hands are tied. I can't do anything.

  4. Thanks for the complete answer. I understand the problem.

My problem is that I send more than 30 photos every day 'cause I have a news blog, and do it manually with Blogger is very hard.

But you was very clear, if there is no Python API libraries for Google Photo, then there is nothing to fix. :(

Now I made an account in Flickr to use this system, but I have a new problem: I can not login with Raven, they changed the page. Is there something easy you can do to fix it?
Flickr is not ideal, but is better that nothing

Thanks for your time and for your clear answer

    1. Flickr has been sold to SmugMug and Yahoo is no longer in control. SmugMug made an announcement recently saying that Flickr is going to be a paid service from now on, with only the first 1000 image uploaded being free or something like that. I presume they must have made some changes to their uploading API after this announcement and broke Raven+'s Flickr uploading capabilities.

    1. Okay. I will if I find one of those software programs.

My photos will more likely go to Instagram from now on. Too much hassle now via Blogger.
