Discounts And Bargain Hunting For My 50mm Canon Lens

I hope this will become the norm. Discounts. I talking about bargain and discounts when shopping online, especially at Lazada Malaysia.

You see, I just bought myself a Canon 50mm F/1.8 STM lens at a very good bargain price during the "Lazada Malaysia's 7th Anniversary sale". This purchase includes a 1-year warranty and a RM50 rebate from Canon Malaysian. Added to that, Lazada also gave me a 5% rebate for topping up my Lazada wallet. So in effect, the amount that is coming out of my pocket is around RM364. That's a 27% discount there! My lucky day I guess - Santa came early for me this year.

At this price of RM364, this lens is even cheaper than the import version of the same lens. Import lenses are cheaper BUT they come with no warranty from the local Malaysian Canon support. That's the price you have to pay, I suppose.

I have registered this lens with Canon Malaysia by the way. No problems there. The RM50 rebate is confirmed and I should be getting it in about 2 months time, based on my last experience.

In my opinion, discounts and savings are available at Lazada, as far as cameras and its accessories are concern. But sometimes, they are not really obvious. Me coming across this lens is by accident, actually. I did do a Lazada search, but as far as I could recall, this particular seller for this lens did not appear. The link instead came at the bottom at some other seller's page. One just have to look and dig and be patient sometimes.

And by the way, this is my second BIG bargain at Lazada. The first was a few months ago when I purchase my first DSLR camera, a Canon EOS 800D/T7i. Ironically, both purchases are from the same store - "FS Store" (Disclaimer: I am not associated with "FS Store", nor is this post sponsored by anybody).

Next, I will be on the lookout for a telephoto zoom lens. The Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS STM looks like a good bet for wildlife and bird photography. A Canon Malaysia warranty purchase would be my preference, but they are quite expensive at around RM1000. Rebates - that's what I need, rebates from Canon Malaysia and Lazada. I hope I will lucky in the months to come.
